Animation Is Film Festival Hosts Live Roundtable With Leading Short-Film Directors

The Animation Is Film Festival will present a live animation roundtable this Sunday in Los Angeles, organized in partnership with The Hollywood Reporter. The session brings together directors whose short films have earned spots in the festival lineup, offering a rare public conversation about their craft and creative processes.

Participants include Leah Nelson of Tangles, Fawn Veerasunthorn of Hexed, Phuong Mai Nguyen of In Waves, Louis Clichy of Iron Boy, and Joel Crawford of Forgotten Island. Each filmmaker represents a distinct voice in contemporary animation, with works spanning varied styles, themes, and production approaches.

The roundtable aims to highlight the artistic decisions behind festival-selected shorts and foster dialogue between creators and audiences. By centering the directors of these short-form works, the event underscores the festival's commitment to elevating short films as a vital part of the animation landscape.
