Vuelta's sales arm Global Constellation has sold 'Jim Queen' to Prorom for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria following the film's screening at the Busan International Film Festival. The queer animated comedy made its Asian debut at the festival after premiering at Cannes.
HBO has acquired first-window rights for the title, adding a major streaming platform to the film's distribution footprint. The deal signals strong commercial interest in LGBTQ+-themed animation from both traditional and streaming buyers.
The Busan market outing marks the first time the film has been shown to Asian buyers and audiences, expanding its international reach beyond its European festival launch. Additional territory deals are reportedly under negotiation.
