CineGouna, the industry arm of the El Gouna Film Festival, has reported a surge in interest with more than 320 Arab film projects applying for funding during the festival's ninth edition. Over 100 submissions came from Egypt alone, reflecting the platform's growing reach across the region.
The festival, running through October 23 on the Red Sea, is using this year's edition to roll out expanded initiatives designed to support filmmakers at various stages of development. Organizers emphasized their goal of providing opportunities for every filmmaker, regardless of experience level or background.
As the region's film infrastructure continues to mature, CineGouna's expanded programming aims to strengthen the pipeline from project development to production and distribution, positioning the festival as a central hub for Arab cinema.
