Korean sci-fi animated feature "Pilgrims" has been acquired for worldwide sales by EST N8. The film, directed by Heo Pyoungkang of "Japan Sinks: 2020" fame, previously screened at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and won a prize at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
EST N8, a film financing, sales, and distribution company, will launch international sales for the title at the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market. This acquisition represents the company's first foray into animated features.
The pickup highlights growing international interest in Korean animation beyond mainstream studio output. Festival exposure at Annecy and Bucheon positioned the film for global distribution deals ahead of its market debut in Busan.
