Kleber Mendonça Filho to Mentor Atlas Workshops at Marrakech Film Festival

The Atlas Workshops, the project development arm of the Marrakech International Film Festival, has announced Kleber Mendonça Filho as the patron for its ninth edition. The acclaimed Brazilian filmmaker, known for "The Secret Agent" and "Bacurau," succeeds previous mentors Cristian Mungiu and Jeff Nichols in the role.

Organizers have also revealed the 30 projects chosen to participate in this year's workshops. Selected from a competitive pool, these works-in-progress represent diverse voices and regions, offering directors a chance to refine their films under expert guidance.

Mendonça Filho will work closely with the selected filmmakers during the festival, providing mentorship on creative and production challenges. The program aims to strengthen emerging cinema and foster international co-production opportunities for the participating projects.
