Festival laurels do not license themselves: a delivery checklist

A laurel is a credential. A license needs files, rights, and a person who answers email. Start the list before the premiere.

Festival laurels do not license themselves: a delivery checklist

We asked three short-film sellers what they request the week after a premiere. The lists matched. A ProRes master, a clean dialogue stem, subtitle files in the festival language and in English, a music cue sheet, a chain of title for archival footage, and a poster with empty space for laurels.

None of that can be invented the night a buyer writes. Films that premiere without it spend the next month in a queue behind films that can deliver on Friday.

Print the list. Tape it to the edit. The festival is the announcement. Delivery is the business.
