Palm Springs adds a distribution lab for films under twenty minutes
Selected shorts will leave the festival with a delivery checklist, a buyer intro, and a window plan instead of only a laurel.

Palm Springs is testing a lab that sits beside its short competition. Eight films under twenty minutes will spend three days with a sales agent, a classroom distributor, and a festival strategist.
The lab is a response to a complaint programmers hear every year: the premiere is wonderful, and then the film stalls because nobody prepared the paperwork. Subtitles, a dialogue list, music cues, and a poster that works at thumbnail size are part of the curriculum.
Directors who want the lab should apply with a locked cut. The festival is explicit that this is not a finishing fund. It is a path from applause to a license.
