Tamil Debut 'Selvi' Premieres at Busan, Portrays Nurse's Grueling 72-Hour Shift

Tamil filmmaker Sailesh Rathnakumar makes his feature debut with "Selvi," selected for the Vision–Asia section at the Busan International Film Festival. The film centers on a homecare nurse, played by Anjali Patil, whose standard 12-hour shift extends into a harrowing 72-hour endurance test.

Patil also serves as a producer on the project through her company, Anahat Films. Rathnakumar co-wrote the screenplay with his cinematographer, building a narrative that transforms a workplace drama into a study of physical and psychological limits.

The Busan premiere marks a significant launch for the independent production, positioning it within a festival sidebar dedicated to innovative Asian cinema. The film aims to find further festival play and distribution deals following its Korean debut.
